Come walk with me...

Let's take a walk around the garden.

In the walled garden the onions and garlic are safely harvested, ponging out the entire house!

Cabbages and kale are becoming Amazonian. We must eat faster!!

Rose Campion and plantain grass have grown taller than the children.

The chooks dust bathe, flattening the feverfew!

In Home Field the hay has been cut, the allotment bursting with potatoes.

The new tent is up, ready for the summer holidays which start on Friday. Lucky me - sleeping out all summer. [It's my cunning plan to keep the house clean!!!]

The fire pit has already been well-used this year.

The pond is filled with wildlife..... including snakes!

The day lillies are emerging.

Let's stroll back to the house....

For a nice cup of tea....

  1. Wow! Beatiful veggies! Our garden has been slow going this year. Hoping for a bumper crop as summer goes on. Any problems with the chooks eating the veggies?

  2. Thanks for the tour! Now what do you think H would say if I put a big tent on our terrace and told him that is where he is spending the summer until he learns that dining room furniture is not the same as a hanging wardrobe?

  3. You just reminded me I have to plant my kale, or I will have none this winter. And that would be just tragic. So great to see you at CyberMummy, wish I had not been so manic and had more time to talk!

  4. The cake chick: There are no probs as I have banned the chooks arm the walled garden where most of the veg resides and they don't seem bothered by the allotment. Their naughtiest habit is scratching out the plant, seedling or seed you've just planted! If we plant in the main garden we have to protect with netting or a wigwam of sticks.

I'm so fancy: That's the reason we got rid of one of those useless exercise bikes when we lived in London.

I quite fancy a camping holiday in London - might borrow your terrace. Maybe 'washing nanny' could be deployed as camp site manager. Can she cook a full english?
[It's pouring with rain here so no camp out here tonight I fear]
