A Walk on the wild side...

I've taken to having a quick constitutional each morning before I feed the animals and launch into the day proper. It's a constant battle with myself to leave the confines of the warm car. Every day, as I drive back from school drop-off to my starting point, I negotiate in my head:

'No need to go today, I went yesterday.....'
'Bit rainy today, best not, might be slippy...'
'Oh fog. Not today then....'

Fortunately the feeling I get after having completed the 30 mins, overrules the moaning-minny in my head and so I set of in wellies, hat, gloves and armed with latest podcast: (Gardeners' Question Time, Gardening with Tim and Joe or the True album by Avicii) to conquer my Mt. Everest.

I walk up a long incline towards a hill top that overlooks the world.... well, Shropshire. To be truthful, I've not yet reached the top of that hill, fearful of the sound of my blood pumping in my ears, (not quite fit yet then!) The sheep look petrified as I pass, 'specially if I'm singing along to something trendy without knowing all the words..

Each day is different..

I'm even beginning to feel a little trimmer....... Wonder if the alpaca might like to pop out with me on their halters in the summer... now that would be an adventure.

  1. Do you really stop to take a photo or use it as an excuse to catch your breath? I love walking with a leashed dog, who wants to stop and sniff on a regular basis. I never have to walk without breaks. Beautiful countryside and well done for getting out of the car when there are so many reasons not to.

    1. Ah ha, you've sussed me! Photography is a valid excuse to stop and catch my breath another good excuse is plant and grass examination..... Plus you look like a plants person (tres interesting) mind you, on a clear day the view stops me in my tracks - gorgeous.

  2. I wish I had a walk that that though grace is not my middle name and I would probably trip, slip or fall on a regular basis. You have motivated me. Time to get myself out walking.

    1. For, me motivating someone to 'get out there' ? You've made me very proud - feel a bit like the Green Goddess, do you remember her on TV in the 80s? It has been so long (80's) since I participated (debatable) in an exercise class that I embarrassed myself the other day by asking where one purchased a leotard from nowadays.......... 'Parently we don't wear those items anymore....

  3. I commend your zeal - and I genuinely would love to emulate your admirable perambulations, but.... I've been nursing an (as yet still undiagnosed) heel problem for months, so the most I'm allowed to do is cycling and swimming. Am suffering withdrawal symptoms from hockey :-( The scenery in your photos is fabulous - my aunt lives in Shropshire and I hadn't realised how wild it is in places! Hope you take a whistle and a flare with you while you're out ;-)

    1. My zeal is waning (or rusting) with the weather. God's being overly generous with the rain methinks and the alpaca, sheep and I have almost had enough!
